BLACKOUT ROLLER BLINDS
Perhaps the most popular application for roller blinds is as a blackout blind, providing high levels of protection from the sun and street lighting at night, to help with a full restful night's sleep.
Interior Power source fabrics from a number of leading roller blind manufacturers, who provide a good selection of blackout fabrics to block out light and minimise glare from outside. This can be particularly useful for city properties where the added complication of street lamps can cause unwanted light to penetrate into a room during the evening.
Very high levels of blackout can be achieved with the addition of a blackout blind behind a lined curtain, for extra darkness in the evening.
For near absolute blackout for cinema rooms, bedrooms, projector rooms etc., it is possible to install blackout blind systems in conjunction with specially made channels around the frame of the window, which virtually eliminates light leakage around the edge of the blind. However, this carries a significant cost premium to standard made to measure blackout blinds and we have found that the majority of clients are delighted with standard fitted blackout blinds.
ANTI-FUNGAL AND ANTI-BACTERIAL BLINDS
The new UniView roller blind system from Decora is worth pointing out as an exceptional new product.
The styling in contemporary with hard wearing and attractive anodised aluminium head rails and bottom rails.
However, the fabric options are the real breakthrough, providing a superb level of solar shading, and good UV protection, while allowing plenty of natural light into a room. The perforated fabric creates the effect that you can see out through them from the inside of a property, but they offer excellent levels of privacy when trying to look in from the outside through the blinds. Not only this, but the fabrics are extremely strong, resistant to bacteria, resistant to fungal growth and are completely washable.
