INSULATED BLINDS FOR COLD & DRAUGHTY WINDOWS
Thermally Lined Blinds Suitable for Victorian Sash Windows
Interior Power have a range of thermally insulated and thermally lined blinds which can offer good heat retention and draft proofing qualities for cold and draughty windows. We generally recommend roman blinds since they can utilise heavier weave fabrics and can be combined with a thermal backing lining, with a very broad range of fabric options. Romans look great in a wide range of properties, from period houses and conversion apartments to modern contemporary city centre penthouses, they really can suit almost any application with a well chosen fabric to complement the environment.
In certain circumstances, it is possible to install complementary made to measure curtains to certain thermal blind installations, to add additional warmth, privacy and ultimate blackout performance. Interior Power can supply matching fitted blinds and fitted curtains, either in identical fabrics or complementary tones to create a beautiful look in any home.
Thermally lined window coverings are particularly popular with clients residing in period Victorian and Edwardian properties in the City and London suburbs, where conservation area rules, listed building regulations and the appreciation of original property features preclude the installation of double glazed window units.
Interior Power strive to work with private clients and developers to work in harmony with the aesthetics and design of each building, recommending the most suitable product design for the requirements of each window, whether that is warmth, privacy, enhancing the natural light or simply creating a subtle window covering to enhance a beautiful room.
Thermally Lined Blinds Insulated to Reduce Draughts and Heat Loss
Interior Power's range of fabrics which can have an additional insulated lining incorporated into their construction which helps to minimise heat loss and reduce drafts through window openings when the blinds are fully extended.
This insulated fabric is most suitable to be made into Roman blinds, the design of which lends itself well to heavier, thicker fabrics. The Roman blind style is most suited to operating thicker fabrics as the fabric does not impede on the operation or look of the blind when it is raised to an open position.
Because all Interior Power blinds are manufactured to the precise dimensions of each client's window measurements, previous clients have found thermally lined roman blinds particularly suitable for traditional buildings which still retain single glazed wooden windows, which can be more draughty and less thermally efficient that their modern double glazed counterparts.
In conservation areas or on listed buildings, where replacement double glazed windows are not an option, Interior Power's thermally lined made to measure Roman blinds can offer a great solution, effectively reducing drafts and heat loss whilst providing an attractive window covering, complementing existing household decoration.
Additionally, Interior Power can also supply fully lined curtains, which can be used independently as an effective insulation measure or can be used in conjunction with a thermally lined blind, providing the maximum possible insulation behind replacement windows or secondary glazing options.
